The data determined with the help of the above chart can show a tolerance of ±10%, normally it will be much less. (The tolerances result from deviations of material and shore hardness tolerances, as well as temperature changes).All elastic material will show a static deformation, known as cold flow, after a period of time. For Rubber the natural setting – cold flow – will result in a loss of approx. 3 up to 4o from its 0o position. This fact has to be considered for certain applications.
