BRECOFLEXmove® & BRECOmove® Timing Belts
BRECOFLEXmove and BRECOmove polyurethane timing belts have been specially designed for high-performancece drives requiring particularly high stiffness.
A newly developed steel cord tension member with slightly larger diameter increases the tensile stiffness by nearly 70% in comparison to the previous version but is still flexible. By enlarging the tension member cross-section it was possible to increase the tensile strength and the permissible tensile forces.
Greater tensile forces lead to higher stress in the root of the tooth and higher surface pressure on the tooth flank. With the aid of finite element topology optimization, the material distribution layout was optimized to achieve a tooth geometry that ensures more uniform distribution of the load acting on the tooth and still fits existing AT profile pulleys. The tooth flank of the BRECOFLEXmove timing belt is additionally protected by a PE laminate that is wear-resistant and ensures lower friction coefficients.
These optimizations have produced a new high-performance timing belt with 25% lower friction and a 30% higher transmittable peripheral force compared to the standard BRECOFLEX AT timing belt. This allows belt drives to be designed that are 30% more compact than the standard version. Depending on the pulley diameter, considerable costs can be saved using the narrower pulleys.
The BRECOmove timing belt AT10 demonstrates its strengths, in addition to high power transmission, particular in linear technology applications. The very high stiffness of the belt is the basis for excellent dynamic behaviour, with short settling times and high positioning accuracy. This makes BRECOmove an excellent alternative to comparable standard timing belts as the AT10, ATL10 and the AT20.
