The Opportunity
If you are ambitious and enthusiastic, with an interest in a career in engineering then consider what an apprenticeship at a well-established Dorset company, who are leaders in their field could offer.
With a focus on the manufacturing workshop, successful candidates will be given the opportunity to spend time learning about the engineering and supporting processes in the TransDev business; whilst learning machining, manual and administrative skills that are in demand in today’s workplace. After successfully completing the Engineering Apprenticeship, you will achieve a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship.
Main duties and areas of training will include:
- CNC Mills and lathe operation
- Semi-manual and manual lathes and mill operation
- Finishing skills and methods
- Specialist machinery operations
- Job management and planning
- Health & safety
- Quality control and best practice
- Material and part handling/storage/management
- Machine set-up, fault diagnosis and maintenance
About You
Profile
We generally look for individuals who enjoy both practical and academic work. You may have an aptitude for and/or interest in Engineering and want to begin your engineering journey. You will already have shown a desire to see how things are engineered, whether that be through repairing cars/bikes etc., or a general interest in Engineering.

Personal qualities
You will be hard-working and enthusiastic with a real commitment to your skills training, classroom learning and private study
Desired qualifications
Maths and English A*/9- C/4 GCSE (or equivalent), plus an additional 3 GCSEs including science (all to be at least grade C/4 (or equivalent)).
Future prospects
Successful completion of the Apprenticeship is the first step on a career at TransDev, with machining roles and related department roles a possibility.
